THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Ka-Na-Chi-Hih treatment centre after six individuals associated with the facility tested positive.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit determined transmission had occurred at the centre, which provides specialized solvent abuse treatment to First Nations youth.
Ka-Na-Chi-Hih offers twelve long-term beds at a centre on Dease Street.
“In collaboration with the TBDHU, Ka-Na-Chi-Hih has implemented additional measures for surveillance and to limit any further spread of the virus,” the health unit said in a statement Monday evening.
