NBU expects international aid to reach $25B next year

The National Bank expects that Ukraine will receive $25 billion in external financing next year, which should be enough to cover the budget’s expenses. That’s according to Deputy NBU Governor Serhii Nikolaychuk, who spoke at a briefing on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. “Today, our base scenario predicts that next year we will receive $25 billion in external financing. Taking into account the potential of the domestic market, this will be enough to cover out budget needs,” Nikolaychuk said.

He added that this scenario drawn by the regulator is also based on the assumption that the government’s ability to cover the expenditures with its own resources will also gradually increase.

As reported, in total, since the full-scale invasion, international aid to Ukraine has reached $85.4 billion, while over $28 billion was raised from the issue of domestic bonds.
