Russian troops have increased the intensity of assault operations in the Kupiansk sector. In total, 54 combat engagements have occurred on the front lines since the beginning of the day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 14:00 on Wednesday, June 5, Ukrinform reports. The invaders are most active in the Pokrovsk sector and in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army continues to carry out air strikes on Ukrainian towns and villages from its territory, in particular from the direction of Shebekine.
Today, the invaders have already dropped five unguided aerial bombs in the area of Okhrimivka and one on Vovchansk from Russian airspace. They also attacked Veterynarne with unguided aerial missiles.
Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks towards the village of Lyptsi. Three combat clashes are ongoing in the area of Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, the number of the Russian army’s assault operations increased. The invaders attacked the positions of the Defense Forces seven times near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Stelmakhivka, Cherneshchyna and Druzheliubivka. Fighting is raging in the area of the latter two settlements.
Russians launched an air strike with a guided missile on the Nove village area.
In the Siversk sector, Russian troops continue to try to storm Ukrainian positions in the areas of Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka and Rozdolivka. The total number of combat engagements in this sector of the frontline increased to five. Three enemy attacks were successfully repelled by the Defense Forces, while two other are still ongoing in the direction of Rozdolivka.
The enemy supported its actions near Verkhniokamianske with the use of two guided aerial bombs.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army used unguided aerial missiles in the vicinity of Pivnichne and Druzhba villages. The Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks outside Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka. One battle in the vicinity of Bila Hora is still ongoing.
“The enemy is particularly active in the Pokrovsk sector today. The number of combat engagements here has more than doubled compared to the morning,” noted the General Staff.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 15 combat engagements have taken place so far. Seven of them are still ongoing in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka, Yevhen vka, Novopokrovske and Sokol. In the vicinity of the latter, Russian troops are concentrating their efforts: the battle is ongoing in four locations, and the invaders dropped two bombs.
Russians conducted three more air strikes in the areas of Zhelanne, Karlivka and Novoselivka Persha.
In the Vremivka sector, three combat engagements involving enemy aircraft are taking place in the direction of Urozhaine. The Defense Forces have already repelled another attack there.
In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.
