Tasheva: Russians using Crimea to hold kidnapped people

The Russian aggressors use Crimea as a rear base for transporting valuables and holding people kidnapped from the occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

“After the full-scale invasion, the Crimean peninsula has been used for the occupation of new territories, namely, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, for the removal of grain, any property, and food. In addition, Crimea is a rear base for the Russian Federation.

During all these months of the full-scale war, they [Russian invaders] kidnapped people from the territory of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, then forcibly transported them to the territory of Crimea. Some of those people died, or they are still held in places of detention, in particular, in the Simferopol pre-trial detention center No.1,” Tamila Tasheva, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, said during the nationwide telethon.

As noted, she has information about the abduction of Kherson activists and territorial defense members.

“For example, Denys Myronov was kidnapped in Kherson. He was a member of Kherson territorial defense forces. He was subjected to numerous tortures and then brought to Sevastopol. He died there after being injured and not given timely medical aid in places of detention in Kherson region,” Tasheva noted.

The official added that the Russians used the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions as a resource base for Crimea. After all, the invaders turned the peninsula into a huge military base where the Russian troops are stationed.
