Ribfest back to in-person for 2022 event

As per usual, proceeds for the event will go towards a great local cause: Our Kids Count.

THUNDER BAY – Ribfest is back, and this year it’s returning to the CLE grounds and those planning to attend can look forward to the full pre-pandemic experience.

The 2021 event was held in a drive-through format because of the pandemic, and while it was successful, it didn’t have the same feel as Ribfests of the past.

“For us, it’s that personal contact, it’s different. You don’t have to talk to them through a car window and you can service. It’ll still be busy for us so we can’t enjoy it like everyone else, but we still look forward to it,” said John Collins, owner of Daytona’s.

This summer will see the return of walk-up ribbers, a Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. beer tent, and some great local music.

Also, the three ribbers from last year will be returning including Dinosaur Smokehouse, Ribs Royal, and of course the local restaurant Daytona’s.

As per usual, proceeds for the event will go towards a great local cause: Our Kids Count, a community development organization and that works with individuals & families to promote the health and development of all children.

“The biggest thing about Ribfest is the community it promotes because that’s what Our Kids Count is here for, to help our community, to help the families that need it, and Ribfest just represents bringing everyone together.” Daniel Trevisanutto, co-chair, Ribfest.

Ribfest 2022 will take place from August 25 to 28, with organizers hoping to raise 60-thousand-dollars from the event.
